Welder

Summary

MCDLG has full-time positions open for welders at both of our plant locations. These positions will require prior experience and training in welding. We offer a commencement pay rate (dependent on prior experience), medical benefits, and a matching 401K contribution.

1. Using Mig and Tig welders, gas and plasma cutting torches to assemble louver and damper products.

2. Working from various welding positions as needed for manufacture of louver and damper products.

3. Working from blueprints and shop sketches to weld products. For this task, you must be familiar with the appropriate welding symbols.

4. Making the jigs and fixtures necessary to assemble and weld products.

5. Mounting and operating simple manual operators and pre-assembled electric and pneumatic actuators.

6. Welding various thicknesses of aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel.

7. Using overhead cranes and hoists.

8. Using hand tools and other equipment, such as drill presses, saws, rollers, and more equipment as required.

9. All welders are responsible for the quality of their work.

10. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This includes maintaining and cleaning all welding equipment.

11. Performing other duties within the job class as specifically or generally directed.

12. Adhering to all safety policies, in a safe and careful manner, as mandated by MCDLG.

13. Lifting objects on a regular basis, which may weigh more than 50 lbs.

1. Training and previous experience in welding.

2. Familiarity with blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.

3. Ability to lift job materials and units they are assembling, which can weight between 50 and 100 lbs.
